Abstract

We examined the impacts of performance feedback and creative self-efficacy on cognitive load during creative (divergent) thinking tasks. Higher creative self-efficacy predicted lower cognitive load. The type of feedback received (positive, negative, or none) significantly impacted cognitive load during creative thinking tasks, even when accounting for creative self-efficacy.
