“I’m Tired, but Ambitious”: How Lower Reported Sleep Duration Affects Perception of Task-Oriented and Interpersonal Traits in College Students

Abstract

This study examined whether manipulating the reported sleep duration of targets would influence how they were rated on task-oriented traits. When targets reported zero or four hours of sleep, they were rated as more ambitious than when they reported eight hours. This was especially true when targets were male.
