Talking Terms about Germs: Children’s Understanding of Contamination and Contagion

Children’s understanding of contamination and contagion has been understudied in psychological research. This study explored school-entry aged children’s understanding of the factors that contribute to illness via contamination and contagion. Results comparing children’s and adults’ patterns of prediction and explanation responses of illness via contamination and contagion are presented.
