Abstract

Previous research demonstrated increases in self-control and lengthening of time perception with regular mindfulness practice. Here we show that a single 20-minute mindfulness session increased state mindfulness but had no effects on time-perception or self-control. Increasing self-control or time perception through meditation may thus require longer sessions or repeated practice.
