Abstract

Professor gender moderates the relationship between syllabi word use and teaching evaluations: For female professors, the use of exclamation points is negatively correlated with evaluation scores; however, for male professors, feeling-related words are positively correlated with evaluations, and the use of long words and periods is negatively correlated with evaluations.
