The Role of Self-Doubt in the Association between Narcissism and Materialism

Materialistic tendencies and their effect on well-being in grandiose and vulnerable narcissists were studied (N = 300). Both types of narcissism were positively associated with materialism. Low avoidance motivation partially mediated the positive correlation between grandiose narcissism and materialism, whereas high self-doubt partially mediated the positive correlation with vulnerable narcissism.
