Abstract

Examined symptom endorsement and measures of health anxiety and exaggerated/inconsistent symptom reporting from the MMPI-2 in 161 participants during a mock FDA drug recall. FBS, a measure of malingering for compensation, explained significant variation in symptom endorsement over standard F scales. However, this variance is subsumed by health anxiety measures.
