Abstract

Gaming at ages 6, 8, and 10 was measured in conjunction with DSM-symptoms. Gaming overlapped with ADHD symptoms and anxiety symptoms. Cross-lagged analyses showed that more ADHD symptoms at age 8 predicted more gaming at age 10, whereas no longitudinal effects from gaming toward psychiatric symptoms were found.
