Abstract

Results from a survey showed high levels of distress among individuals residing in Swedish refugee housing facilities. Asylum seekers were worse off than those having received a residence permit. Actions should be taken to improve conditions and shorten the time awaiting asylum decisions. Psychosocial support should be provided at facilities.
