Familial Risk for Depression and Puberty Interact to Impact DHEA/Cortisol Ratios in Adolescents

Abstract
We examined whether DHEA and Cortisol ratios vary during the adolescent transition as a function of familial risk for depression. We found that younger kids at familial risk displayed lower DHEA/cort ratios than their low risk peers but this effect was no longer present at later stages of puberty.
