Abstract
Amygdalae, hippocampi, and parahippocampal volumes of 72 healthy children were compared by gender and trauma (4+ traumatic life events versus 0 events). The sex by trauma interaction (p = 0.016) indicated that girls with high trauma had larger volumes than boys with trauma specifically in bilateral hippocampal and parahippocampal regions.
