Abstract
We tested longitudinally the differential effects of social support networks, strength of cultural identity, and self-esteem on depression symptomatology and internalising and externalising behaviour of young Pacific people living in New Zealand. Friends support emerged as a unique predictor of wellbeing, with strength of cultural identity mediating these relations.
