Abstract

When judging information quality and credibility of hypothetical online news sources, political affiliation moderated college students' reliance on the article source (liberal or conservative outlet). Republicans, but not Democrats or independents, made source independent negative judgments of liberal content. Democrats rated liberal articles more positively when published in conservative outlets.
