DHEA Moderates the Impact of Early Trauma on the HPA Axis

Abstract
We examined whether the impact of early trauma on the HPA axis stress response is impacted by DHEA/Cortisol ratios. We found that trauma was associated with shorter duration of the HPA axis response but only among individuals with high DHEA/Cortisol ratios.
