Preliminary Examination of Bilingualism and Gender on Self-Assessment of Academic Performance Among College Students

Abstract

College students’ bilingualism and self-reported academic performance were assessed. Results showed that monolingual students have a higher general concept of college performance. Female students also reported significantly higher GPA and more effective study habits than their male counterparts. These preliminary results are discussed in relation to educational policies.
