Abstract

Using measures of internalizing and externalizing symptoms obtained at the beginning of a child’s psychotherapy, we found strong negative correlations between the intensity of these symptoms and parent reports of parenting satisfaction and self-efficacy. The effects were more pervasive for internalizing symptoms than for externalizing symptoms.
