Abstract

Mental well-being was found not to be directly affected by level of stress faced during a mildly stressful task. Instead, path analysis showed that stress was related to mental well-being through bilingualism and appraisal. Bilingualism and appraisal’s relations with mental well-being were meditated by executive function and coping flexibility respectively.
