Abstract
A cohort study compared one long- and two short-term psychotherapy models in treating 221 adult outpatients suffering from depressive and anxiety disorders. Patients with self-reported childhood adversities responded with faster or greater benefit within therapy models focused specifically on the past (i.e., psychodynamic) rather than the future (i.e., solution-focused).
