Abstract

We investigated sleep-dependent consolidation of incidentally encoded information using the Deese-Roediger-McDermott illusory memory paradigm. Participants evaluated words and were given a surprise test. We found higher correct recognition of list words and higher false recognition of critical lures after sleep than wake for both deep and shallow encoding conditions.
