Self-Compassion Predicts Indicators of Well-Being Above and Beyond Mindfulness

Abstract

Might self-compassion enhance the effects of mindfulness on psychological well-being? In a community sample, it was found that self-compassion was associated with many indicators of well-being above and beyond mindfulness. It was also found to moderate the relation between mindfulness and one's competence needs.
