Abstract

Our results indicate those who experience physical abuse and neglect during childhood are more likely to develop psychopathy than those exposed to other types of childhood maltreatment. Our model only explains a small proportion of the variance in psychopathy characteristics, suggesting physical abuse and neglect are minor contributing factors.
