Abstract
A laboratory paradigm was used to explore one developmental pathway by which stressful environments may be linked to poor adolescent health outcomes via eating habits. Hierarchical linear regressions revealed that early parental messages supporting eating restriction predicted problematic adolescent eating behavior in response to stress, but not increased emotional reactivity.
