Abstract

An investigation into the implicit influences of gender stereotypes on the production of false memories. Participants were presented pictures of males or females paired with consistent or inconsistent gendered occupations. Participants’ gender and the gender consistency of stimuli affected memory for the gendered occupations and the formation of false memories.
