Abstract

We examined disdain/support for inclusion policies (e.g., safe spaces, trigger warnings, hate speech bans, pronoun policies) and their perceived free speech violation (FSV), psychological correlates, and respondents’ (N=477) reasoning. Realistic threat correlated strongly with disdain and FSV. Whites showed more disdain and FSV than Blacks, effects mediated by realistic threat.
