Abstract

In an investigation of moral emotions in hierarchical relationships, respondents attributed low shame and guilt to dominant perpetrators, but high guilt and shame to subordinate perpetrators. Contempt and disgust felt by victims for perpetrators were higher for dominant than subordinate victims.
