Abstract

Within a multiple-day trauma film study, imagery rescripting (ImRs) of consolidated memories was experienced as less distressing when compared to imagery rehearsal (IRE). Even though ImRs, IRE, and a no-intervention control condition did not differentially affect the total number of intrusive memories, ImRs accelerated their decline when compared to control.
