Following Pride Down the Wrong Path: Hubristic Pride Is Associated with Lying about Performance on a Cognitive Task

Abstract
Individuals prone to hubristic pride, but not those prone to authentic pride, were more likely to exaggerate to a partner about their performance on a cognitive task. They were particularly likely to do so if they were led to believe that their partner had performed very well on the task.
