Abstract

We examined how gender and education predict retirement satisfaction and subjective well-being. We found that retirement satisfaction is a gendered experience, with women reporting more retirement satisfaction than males. This effect disappeared when considering post-retirement subject well-being. More education predicted greater retirement satisfaction and marginally predicted subjective well-being.
