Abstract
889 African American children and their mothers reported discrimination and health behaviors over a 15-year period (children’s ages 10 - 25). Early discrimination predicted increased exercise and healthy nutrition over time. The same results were found for the mothers, older sisters, and female best friends. Males showed no such relations.
