Abstract
Guided by TPB, we conducted two studies assessing professional help-seeking behavior among Taiwanese and US adults concerned with chronic disease symptoms. We found stronger hesitation in the US, and heavier reliance on family influence in Taiwan. Moreover, males more often ignored signs of illness, whereas females considered help-seeking more common.
