Abstract

Previous research shows that inequality can foster risky and even anti-social behaviors. The present research demonstrated that (especially frequent) exposures to inequality led to an entirely different types of behaviors, namely passive reactions (e.g., helplessness). The effects was mediated by the lack of control and also, moderated by social status.
