Workplace Normative Expectations Reduce Employee Incivility & Stress

Abstract

We extend workplace civility research by conducting a study that examines longitudinal psychological outcomes of experienced incivility using a multi-level framework. We also identify the separate influence of supervisor vs. workgroup civility expectations in predicting daily experienced incivility. Our findings indicate training priority areas for reducing incivility in the workplace.
