Abstract
We investigated how metabolic state (fasted vs. fed) affects delay discounting and associated brain activity. During fast, decisions were less stochastic and brain activity associated with value tracking was enhanced. Fasting tended to make behaviors more extreme (steeper or shallower discounting) but was not associated with on-average change.
