Abstract

President Trump has been labeled “polarizing”; however, this polarization may actually be indicative of ambivalence. Using the density matrix, we found Democrats, Republicans and Independents all exhibited ambivalence about Trump, though Independents showed more ambivalence than Democrats. With 42% of voters identifying as Independent, the results have broad sociopolitical implications.
