A Meta-Analysis of the Impact of Mentors and Role-Models across Domains

This meta-analysis examined the influence of mentors and role-models for behavioral and cognitive outcomes across laboratory, occupational, educational, and clinical domains. Meta-analytic results indicated an overall moderate average weighted effect size with significant moderation across study designs. Significant moderation was also found across gender, age, and race variables.
