Abstract

This study examines the effect of social network features on Chinese migrants’ frequency of discussing emotional issues with friends. We found that Chinese migrants discuss these issues with friends who are: less close; frequent contacts; also Chinese; and known outside work/school. A more interconnected network predicts more mental health conversations.
