Time Limited Testing Taxes Working Memory

Abstract

In two studies we examined the effects of time limits on test performance. We found that time limits impact performance differently when test items rely on working memory as compared to items that rely on insight, and that working memory capacity interacts with test performance in timed vs. untimed conditions.
