Abstract

Behaviourally determined diseases cause 70% of world death. A brief journaling intervention was employed to facilitate protective behaviour via cognitive bias modification. Results demonstrate significant increases to participants’ sense of meaning and autonomous motivation for health, suggesting mechanisms indirectly associated with health can cultivate internalised motivation and cue adaptive behaviour.
