Unilateral Friendship Strength and Reciprocal Friendship Strength Predict Lower Peer Loneliness in Preadolescents

Abstract
Using a multiple linear regression model on 377 fourth and fifth grade American students, we find that the strength of unilateral friendships and the strength of reciprocal friendships predict lower peer loneliness (Adj. R^2 = .108, p < .001).
