Abstract
Individuals demonstrate state narcissism when they inflate their state's contribution to U.S. history relative to non-resident contribution ratings. Participants that endorsed more strongly binding values (i.e. endorsed values that put groups and hierarchies at the center of moral decision-making) showed significantly greater state narcissism.
