Abstract

Children (6–11 years) and adults performed a repeated word-associations task. Semantic relatedness of responses was estimated using latent semantic analysis (LSA) and continuous bag of words (CBOW). Participants produced stronger associations for verbs than nouns; relatedness of responses decreased over repetitions. CBOW was more sensitive than LSA to age effects.
