Abstract

Can brand symbols (e.g., Nike, Starbucks) trigger insuppressible mental imagery? Evidence for this is provided in a variant of the Reflexive Imagery Task (RIT). Corroborating the robustness of the RIT effect, we also provide evidence that this effect occurs comparably with stimulus scenes having one stimulus or two critical stimuli.
