Attitudes Toward Granting Criminals Immunity

Abstract
Participants read a kidnapping scenario and were asked if they were willing to grant the criminal full immunity in exchange for saving the kidnapped victim, with the victim being either a loved one or a stranger. U.S. participants were willing to grant the criminal immunity, but Indian participants were not.
