A Diary Study of Emotional Labor in Hair Stylists

Abstract
We conducted a diary study of emotional labor in hair stylists. Using latent growth curve modeling, we found deep acting decreased significantly over 7 work days. Work withdrawal was associated with less deep acting. Increasing levels of extraversion had a slowing effect on the rate of decline in deep acting.
