Abstract

The purpose of present research was to explore the motivational mechanisms of affective influence in the positive stereotype threat effect. Two experimental studies provide evidence that threat-related feelings could be used as diagnostic information for the situational demands assessment and could regulate the mobilization of cognitive effort during task performance.
