Investigating the Influence of Sensory Modality Specific Retrieval Cues on Involuntary Episodic Memory

We investigated the role of the sensory modality of retrieval cues on the frequency and content of involuntary episodic memories. The results underscored the importance of situational cues and suggested visuospatial cues may outshine auditory cues in terms of the elicitation of involuntary memories and their subsequent content.
