Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Attention Bias Modification Produce Neurocognitive Change in Individuals with Social Anxiety Disorder

Abstract
The N2 waveform, an index for cognitive control, was assessed for individuals with Social Anxiety Disorder during Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Attention Bias Modification. Both groups evidenced a larger N2 post treatment, and maintained gains at follow-up. This implicates cognitive control as a key mechanism of change in both treatments.
