Abstract

Rumination yields longer and more severe episodes of depressed mood than active coping strategies. Discrimination is a predictor of psychological distress and ruminative coping significantly influences this relationship. This current study highlights the impact of ruminative coping on psychological distress in Black Americans in relation to racial discrimination.
