Attachment Orientations and Friendship Maintenance in College Students

Friendships are an important predictor of well-being during the transition to college. Attachment theory was used to investigate relationship maintenance behaviors in college friendships. Using online survey methods, attachment avoidance was found to interact with hypothetical scenarios to predict maintenance behavior in theoretically consistent ways.
