Abstract

The current study assessed the strength and directionality of the association between emotion regulation and depression (1343 adolescents). Correlated slopes analysis showed only Suppression change was correlated with Depressive Symptom change. Cross-lag panel analysis showed Depressive Symptoms predicted future Suppression use but Suppression use did not predict later Depressive Symptoms.
